VISAKHAPATNAM: Our country needs a strong nationalist government to meet the threat from divisive and external forces, said Prof Rajendra Simhaji, chief of the Rastriya ‘Swayamsevak Sangh. Addressing the ‘Swayam Sevaks from three north coastal Andhra districts he said, we should also make the nuclear bomb to serve as a deterrent against forces inimical to India on the external front.

He said that China was surely a nuclear power, and Pakistan had got a nuclear device, and so India too should go nuclear to counter the threat from the neighboring nuclear powers. India, he said, should also develop it’s missiles program and not abandon the project, succumbing to pressures. The RSS chief was of the view that the center was hesitating to spend on defense services on the grounds of financial crunch, while at the same time it was lavish in its spending on other useless things.

Prof Simhaji said that corruption, castism and appeasement of minority Christians and Hindus were the maladies of our country. He regretted that India was known as the most corrupt country. The government at the center is rocked by the sugar, telecom and the Harsh and Mehta scams, while during the time of Rajiv Gandhi, it was the Bofors scandal. He accused the Congress government of standing the country in a virtual debt trap.

The RSS chief had a dig at the Christian community for demanding reservation for the Dalit Christians.
