NAGPUR India, Reuter: Leg Spinner Narendra Hirwani, who dismissed six West Indies batsman playing for India under 25S last month, bas been included in the squad for this week’s second test.
Hirwani, who retuned career best figures of six for 100 in the game in Chandigarh, was one 14 players named on Monday for the match starting in Bombay on Friday.
He is one of three changes from the squad selected for the first test which West Indies won by five wickets. Mohinder, Amarnath, and Mobammad Azharuddin are brought back and Raman Lamba, Sanjay Manjrekar and W.V. Raman are dropped.
Hirwani, who varies his leg breaks, ‘with off spinners, took all six wickets that fell in the West Indies’ second innings, including those of Richie Richardson and Gordon Greening,
‘Azharduddin was excluded from the first test because of a groin injury and Amamath because of fever.
Lamba failed in both innings in the first test and Manjrekar, who retired hurt in the second innings, has yet to recover from a blow in the face from a ball from Winston Benjamin which required stitches above and below his Tetley, Raman was in the reserves for the first test,
The final 11 for the test will be announced on the morning of the first day’s play.
