NEW DELHI: The government has expressed confidence that improving situation in Jammu and Kashmir would lead to then la democratic process in the standard that the Ration code to guard itself against efforts by third parties placate the line by advocating option of independence This was stated by the Home Minister, S.B. Chavan, in his reply as both Houses of Parliament approved by voice vote the extension of President’s rule in Jammu and Kashmir till July 17
“There are welcome signs of a wide ranging public debate in the state which can be said to mark the beginning of a political process,” Chavan told the Lok Sabha and said that the government was ready to hold a dialogue with any group.
Chavan as well as Bhuvnesh Chaturvedi, Minister of State in the Prime Minister’s office, said that an all party meeting would be called soon to tackle the developing situation in the state.
Chaturvedi ruled out allowing international observers to oversee elections whenever they are held in Jammu and Kashmir and also rejected third party mediation on the issue.
