NEW DELHI: India May 18 described as “baseless and imaginary” Pakistan army claims of having destroyed an Indian border outpost at Bugna in Keran sector of Kashmir killing 90 soldiers.
An official spokesman strongly refuted the claims made by the Pakistan press international news agency quoting a local Pakistani army commander.
The spokesman said Pakistan was apparently stung by last week’s abortive bid to send a big group of Kashmiri militants across the border in which 73 were killed and some arrested.
He said the agency was apparently referring to unprovoked shelling by Pakistani army in Keran in the first week of this month intended to divert the attention of Indian forces from the bid to smuggle in the group of Kashmiri militants.
The spokesman said an Indian Army junior commissioned officer and a soldier had been slightly wounded in the Pakistani shelling which was silenced by Indian guns in retaliation.
