NEW DELHI (PTI): India on June 20 conveyed to the Afghan minister of state for foreign affairs, Mohammad Sadiq Salonga, its concern at the victimization of Afghan Nationals of Indian origin on account of their being Hindus or Sikhs and called for effective Steps to save their lives and property.

Saljogi, who traveled through New Delhi on his way to Kabul, was also apprised of incidents of theft and looting of the Indian airlines office and residences of the Indian embassy staff,

Minister of state for external affairs Eduardo Faleiro, who hosted a lunch for the Afghan minister, drew his attention to reports that the people of Indian origin had been victimized by armed raiders belonging to various groups in and around Kabul.

In a particular incident, a three member Afghan family of the Indian origin had been murdered, he said.

Saljogi is the first Afghan minister to visit Delhi after the ouster of Dr.Najibullah as president in April.
