COLOMBO, AUG. 3, REUTER — India’s high commissioner (Ambassador) said on Wednesday an unknown agency seeking to destabilize Sri Lanka had supplied Tamil rebels with surface to air missiles.

A missile and a launcher were found by Indian troops on ‘Tuesday during operations against rebels in northern Sri Lanka, the high commission (embassy) said.

High commissioner Jyotindra Nath Dixit said: “It only means that some agency, entity or organization which is interested in continuing destabilization and the prevention of the return to normalcy in Sri Lanka has supplied these.”

But he added: “We have no evidence from where (the missile) came.”
