WHAT characterizes today’s life is listlessness. Although by very nature human mind is fickle and mercurial the present generation seems to be passing through a penned of virtual trauma Peace seems to elude all young or old man or woman rich or poor high or low.

Science defines noise as lack of harmony. Noise can be physical when it deafens the ears like the bang of a cracker it can also be moment at every step.

There is noise in the home nagging never-ending dispute over property bewildering antics of the junior dwindling filial affection; an unwelcome guest or a quarrelsome neighbor

There is noise in the office an unhealthy environment denial of promotion fickleness of friend’s dissensions among colleague’s insufficient opportunities of advancement poor remuneration an intolerant boss or an unreliable subordinate

There is noise in the street screeching of cars honking of horns rattle of vehicles bellowing of the cattle yelling of the hawker loud and tearing music on any conceivable occasion  of solace There is noise in the mind frustrated love thwarted ambition Driven to despair one might think whether there is any sane path through the maddening labyrinth of existence whether there is any way to ameliorate one’s lot; whether there can at all be some Solace Years ago I had come across piece of wiling of an unknown author which by the sheer splendor of its message the beauty of its contents and the majesty of its style has inspired me had gladdened me year after year That it will be of immense value to all well-meaning people I have no doubt Let me share it with the readers It runs as follows:

Go placidly among the noise and haste and remember what peace there may be in silence. As far as possible without surrender be on good terms with all persons. Speak your truth quietly and clearly and listen to others even the dull and ignorant they too you may become vain and bitter for always there will be Seater or lesser persons than yourself

Enjoy your achievements as well as S. Remain interested in your own career however humble it is a real possession in the changing fortunes of time.

\Exercise caution in your business affairs for the world is full of hockey. But let this not blind you to what virtue there is many persons strive for high ideas and everywhere life is full of heroism. Be yourself. Especially do not feign affection. Neither is cynical about love for in the face of all aridity and disenchantment it is perennial as the grass.

Take kindly the counsel of years gracefully surrendering the things of youth. Nurture strength of spirit to shield you in sudden misfortune. But do not distress yourself with imagining. Many fears born of fatigue and   Beyond a wholesome be gentle with yourself You are a child of the universe no less than the trees and Stars you have a right to be here And whether or not it is Clear to you no doubt the universe is unfolding as it should. Therefore be at peace with God whatever you conceive Him to be and whatever your labour and aspirations in the noisy confusion of life keep peace with your soul. With all its sham drudgery and broken dreams it is still a beautiful world. Strive to be happy.
