Sardar Ranbir Singh Dhaliwal, son of late S. Baldev Singh and Sardami Dalip Kaur, passed away suddenly on 10th October. Bom in Dhulkot (Ludhiana), Punjab, he had been an officer of the British India and Indian Army Services, 19421956. He is survived by his wife Sardarnt Pritam Kaur, sons Shamsher Singh (Amarjit Kaur), Gopal Singh (Manjit Kaur), Gutmail Singh (Charanjit Kaur) of Punjab, Jagdev Singh (Rajvinder Kaur), Rajinder Singh (Amarjit Kaur) and Gurdip Singh (Kuldip Kaur) of Edmonton, four daughters Narinder Kaur Pandher (late Bakhtawar Singh), Balwant Kaur Deol (Jaspal Singh), Iqbal Kaur Liddar (Hardev Singh) and Bhagwant Kaur Chauhan (Amritpal Singh), brother Dalvir Singh, sister Surjit Kaur Grewal, and 26 grand and great grandchildren, Sardar Dhaliwal was an active member and former secretary of the Gurdwara Guru Singh Sabha Society, Edmonton, He will be missed dearly by humorous relatives, friends and the Sikh community of Edmonton, Sardar Dhaliwal was recipient of the Burma Steel Bar, India Independence and Jaminu & Kashmir G.S. Medals.
Funeral and cremation services took place at the Hainstock’s Funeral and Crematorium, 981034 Ave., Edmonton, on 14th October, Saturday, at 2:30 p.m. Bhog ceremony followed immediately at the Gurdwara Siri Guru Singh Sabha Society.
