BANGALORE: Stung by Amnesty International’s latest report on human rights violations in India the Center is preparing a counter-report by investigating some of the reported cases examined to bring out the “truth” in them.
According to official sources the Intelligence Bureau (IB) has been asked to collect information on the Amnesty-mentioned cases from the state police departments. The report would be sent to Indian missions abroad for the governments and the Press there to get a clearer picture of the human rights situation in India
The amnesty report called “Human rights i in India torture rape and death in custody” lists incidents and details some barbaric torture methods allegedly practiced by the Indian police.
