NEW DELHI: Andhra Pradesh Chie! Minister N, Chandra Babu Naidu rejected the demand that he step down for bringing about unity among the Telugu Desam factions and said the question did not arise when a majority of the party cadres, including MLAs. backed him.
Mr. Naidu was reacting to rival TDP faction president Lakshmi Parvathi’s demand for his resignation as a precondition for unity while addressing & news conference in Allahabad.
Why should I resign when 90% of the TDP cadres, including 186 out of 214 MLAs and six out of eight MP support me,” Mr. Naidu asked, adding that in democracy issues were decided by the majority.
