GUWAHATI: Several human rights activists were arrested by the police Dec.9 when they med to address a rally near Kalaigaon in Darrang district. The rally was organized by the Manab Adhikar Sangram Samiti (MASS) and the Boro Women’s Justice Forum.
Among the activists who were held by the police were D.S.Gill and M.S.Grewal of the International Human Rights Organization, Rayi Nayar, Executive Director of the South Asian Human Rights Center, P.A.Sebastian secretary Indian Peoples Human Rights Commission, SujatBhadra and Kirti Roy of Democratic Rights Protection Committee, West Bengal, Dr.N.Sanajaoba Singh of GU, Nibaran Bora, Ajit Bhuyan and Parag Das.
