I am 18-year-old Otta Muslim who has been following the Indian Government vs. Sikh saga for several years. As a law project in school I am reporting on this issue.
Sardar Sahib ji I at first was very much anti-Sikhs and hated them for what they had done by killing my fiancée and my friends by bombing Air India flight 182 in June 1985 from Toronto to Bombay. After by chance coming across a book I realized with shock horror and dismay; that I too like the rest of the world was a victim of the Indian Government’s manipulation That day I punished myself for blaming the Sikhs and read the whole issue and today I am one of the 400 Muslims students in our school voicing our concerns and pleas for justice to the Canadian Government and groups like Amnesty International in order to persuade the bloody Government of India to stop the massacre of our Sikh friends
What happened between Sikhs and Muslims in the past must be forgiven and forgotten and the bond of friendship and warm brothers must flow. I for one believe what Guru Gobind Singh ji and Guru Nanak Sahibji said just as much as I believe in what our Prophet Mohammed (peace be on him) said. I got in contact with the World Sikh Organization here in Ottawa and requested some more information.
Amongst the information was a little booklet tiled *why I took to AK-47. This booklet was about the horrifying and shocking and inhumane torture of Sardar Raghbir Singh Sahib 24 of Lakhan Khurd in Kapurthala district Sardar Sahib ji what can I say except that at the end I was truly and honestly crying and my heart went out to Raghbir Bhai for his God given patience and tolerance in putting up with the humiliating experience.
Why should innocent people like Raghbir Singh and his father Jathedar Piara Singh Sahibji put up with such behavior? Why doesn’t anyone shout that India is committing bloody murder against its Sikh people just like it had been done to Muslims when we were rallying for Pakistan? Sardar Sahib ji 1 am 100% pro Khalistan and support the Sikh people in their battle with the Indian Government. The Sikhs had and have a right to Punjab and beautiful and what I call ‘lovers paradise”. It should be returned to the Sikhs to Punjab; and Haryana be left to find another capital. Together with my Sikh friends the Kuwaitis (lam a Kuwaiti and Pakistani) Saudi and Pakistani students here in Ottawa are trying to get ourselves heard but all they say is “Yes we will do something” and they never do.
I have visited the local Gurdwara and talked to so many Sikhs and also to the Granthi about this whole issue I got the obvious feeling that 90% of the Sikhs in Ottawa alone opted for Khalistan and separation from India. We do not blame them but rather support them.
Sardar Sahib ji I have taken up plenty of your valuable time and hope that I have not bored you to sleep. I am going to pen down now but before do can you please send me some information on what is going on back there? I would also appreciate it very much if you can forward my sympathy prayers and well wishes to Raghbir Singh Sahib ji and to his family-if possible.
