MOBALLE: Militants killed a newspaper agent and a hawker while another hawker was injured seriously in an attack on the house of newspaper again in phase 2 of this industrial township on June 3rd. Subhash Pingla a newspaper agent and Joginder Pal Singh a hawker were shot dead an one pal another hawker was injured in the incident, The incident occurred at about 4:50 am when six of the eight hawkers of the news agency gathered to collect their supply of the newspapers for distribution in the township.
Earlier Panthic Committee and certain other militant group had given a warning to a Jullunder based group of newspapers to close down and ask its distributors not to undertake the job as the newspaper was publishing a bundle of lies every day.
In another action at Amritsar a newspaper agent was gunned down by militants.
