NEW DELHI, Aug 12, Reuter: Eleven Harijans (Untouchables) were killed by high caste Hindu attackers in eastern India’s Bihar State, the press trust of India said on Friday.
A survivor told police a gang raided Damuha tola Dagri Village on Thursday night, dragging people out of their homes and killing them, the news agency said.
Harijans are the lowest of the low in India’s rigidly stratified Hindu society.
In June 18 Harijans were killed in another village in Bihar, where outbreaks of caste violence are frequent.
