NEW DELHI: Incessant rains continued to lash most parts of India claiming more than 205 lives and leaving a trail of destruction.

A report from Bombay said more than 27 people died and standing crops destroyed due to heavy rains.

‘As many as 70 people lost their lives in heavy rains which lashed parts of India Wednesday.

Delhi had witnessed the heaviest rains of the season, which claimed three lives and left many injured, inundated roads and affected vehicular traffic.

In Lucknow, Six people were killed in a cloud burst Wednesday.

A report from Guwahati said floods have claimed seven lives in the state this year besides affecting one million people in 1300 villages. It has also destroyed standing crops in 48,000 hectares,

Floods in Arun chal Pradesh have so far rendered seven micro hydel projects inoperative while the power situation and road communication in several places of the state continued to remain disrupted since the last two months.

With the death toll rising to 68, the entire state machinery in Andhra Pradesh has been geared up to meet the situation following rise in the water level of the swollen Godavari River at Dowleswaram in East Godavari district of Andhra Pradesh.
