NEW YORK, N.Y The hearing in the case for the extradition of Ranjit Singh Gill and Sukhminder Singh Sandhu has been postponed to February 1, 1988, The case was scheduled to come up for hearing on November 2, 1987.

Gill and Sandhu arrested from a New Jersey gas station in May by the F.B.I. on the basis of Warrants issued against them by the Indian authorities for their alleged involvement in some criminal cases in India. Both are senior functionaries of the All India Sikh Students Federation which is spear heading a campaign to ensure a life of dignity and freedom for the Sikhs.

‘The hearing was postponed at the request of the Defence Attorneys who wanted more time to prepare the case. The Attorneys were allowed to go to India to collect material for the defence of their clients. They visited Chandigarh and Ludhiana and met some lawyers and Human Rights Organization members.
