NEW DELHI:A Delhi court Friday summoned on December 17 Yahya M H AlSageish, a Saudi Arabian national, accused of marrying Ameena, a 12-yr-old child bride from Hyderabad, capital city of southern Indian state of Andhra Pradesh.

The incident shook the country a few months ago, when an air hostess spotted the girl crying and refusing to accompany the Sheikh.

On inquiry it transpired the Sheikh, over 60 years of age, had married Ameena and had wrongly certified her age in the passport.

The summons were issued to Al-Sagieh through his counsel F A Khan by metropolitan magistrate Anu Malhowa.

The court did not summon the parents of Ameena, though crime branch of Delhi police has named them as accused in its summons filed in the court.

Al-Sagieh, who has been booked under section 363,366,420, 465,471, and 496 of Indian Penal Code (IPC), is on bail and residing in Delhi as he was not allowed to leave the country.
