Mrs. Kashmir Kaur Atwal wife of Harjap’S Atwal died on the spot as the car, she was driving hit a utility pole. According to report, the car began swerving fort unknown reasons and went out of control while running at high speed. After hitting the pole the car finally stopped in a grape orchard.
Kashmir’s mother Swaran Kaur was also in the car at the time of the accident. She suffered serious injuries and is reported to be in critical but stable. Condition at a local hospital. Older sister suffered from multiple leg fractures and recuperating. The children suffered minor injuries and were released after the primary medical care. They were able to get out of the car after the accident and called 911.
Kashmir Atwal worked as registered nurse at Fresno Community hospital for Six years.
Funeral services were held on June 22nd at Fresno Tinkler Crematorium according to full Sikh rites. Almost 2,000 grieving family members and friends were present at the funeral.
All the Sikh community of central California is feeling the pain of unexpected death. Kashmir’s colleagues at the hospital described her to be dedicated and hardworking nurse committed to heal the pain of her sick patients. Soft spoken Harjap’S Atwal is a Bhangra artist, radio and TV announcer and owner of Sunrise Audio and Video in Fresno.
