CHANDIGARH: Harkishen Singh Kahlon former S.S.P. of Bathinda died of heart attack at the PG.I here early this week Kahlon was transferred to Chandigarh in the Punjab secretariat a few weeks ago as his conduct became a source of embarrassment to the Indian authorities. He had evidently lost all sense of proportion in dealing with Sikh militants and had been ruthlessly killing Sikh youths. Many even suspected that he had become a lunatic. He personally watched the youths being tortured by the police and greatly enjoyed the scene. The cause of Kahlons mental illness reportedly was that his only son had been killed by Sikh militants to punish him for his campaign against the community.
