The Gurus and our ancestors have already laid down the political programme for the Sikh people. This political programme we repeat every morning and evening in our congregations

To achieve the above mentioned “goal” Gobind Singh Foundation (G.G.S.F.) has taken the following initiatives:
* In April 1988, On Baisaki day, G.G.S.F honored Honorable Connie Morella for expressing her concern over the issues related to the Sikh community.
* In May 1988, G.G.S.F participated in a interfaith dialogue on AIDS and expressed Sikh point of view.
* In July, 1988, G.G.S.F arranged the “langar” for 1,200 homeless in Washington D.C.
*In Aug. 1988, G.G.S.F. organized the Sikh participation in peace march marking the 25th anniversary of famous speech, “I have a dream” by Rev Martin Luther King in Washington.
*In Sept. 1988, G.G.S.F invited leaders of other religions of Washington metro to observe Sikh service at the Gurdwara.
*Jn Oct. 1988 G.G.S.F hosted a seminar by various Sikh intellectuals in preparation for a multi religious meeting in Wichita Kansas.
*In Nov 1988, G.G.S.F organized a Sikh delegation to represent Sikh faith ina Multi religious meeting in Wichita Kansas. This participation helped in wider exposure of our community in North America.
* In Nov. 1988 G.G.S.F organized a 50 member Kirtani Jatha to participate in a Interfaith concert attended by more than 2,000 people in Washington.
* In Dec 1988 G.G.S.F marked the martyrdom of Guru Tegh Bahadur di and 40th anniversary of Declaration of Human Rights by United Nations which was attended by Ms. Maltie Robinson, Mr. Simeon Kriesberg and Esterlitta Jones from Black Christian Community, Jewish Community and Amnesty International respectively.
*In Jan 1989, G.G.S.F celebrated the Gurpurab of Guru Gobind Singh Ji which was attended by Rabbi Morris Gordon of Jewish Community.
* In Jan 1989 on behalf of Sikh community of Washington Metro area, G.G.S.F participated in birthday celebration of Martin Luther King. The honor of reciting benediction was bestowed on Sikhs.
* In March 1989, G.G.S.F again served food to more than 1,200homeless. of Washington D.C
* In March 1989, G.G.S.F. conducted a special program entirely by children of Washington Metro area.
* In April 1989 G.G.S.F celebrated Baisakhi and honored Congressman Wally Herger for taking up the cause of human rights for Sikhs. The Granthi of G.G.S.F., Bhai Gurdarshan Singh organized an Amrit Sanchar in which 17 people took Amrit.
ONGOING PROGRAMS
* G.G.SF at presently is conducting kirtan classes at various places in Washington area in which more than 35 kids are learning kirtan.
* Participation in Interfaith Conference and presenting the Sikh viewpoint ‘on various social issues facing the American Society.
* G.G.S.F. is planning to build a National Sikh Center comprising of a Museum a Library and a seminar hall in the Nation’s capital.
Khalsa ji, Guru Gobind Singh Foundation is always inspiring towards newer and better standards, ever higher goals, and greater accomplishments for building a richer and more productive Sikh community in this adopted land of ours!
