Guru Angad Dev Ji who was first known as Lehna Ji who was the second guru of the Sikhs. He was bom on March 31, 1504 at MattieDeSerai, in Ferozepur district.

A song of Guru Nanak kindled in him a burning desire to know the master. He met the divine master one day and was at once his man. He loved nanak at first sight and wished never to part from him. When time came for Nanak to choose a successor, he put the devotion of his disciples to trial. Angad alone stood the test Guru Nanak placed a coconut and a pice before Angad and bowed before him, declaring him his successor.

Guru Angad popularized Guru mukhi script. Besides the hymns composed by him, he wrote all the hymns of Nanak in Gurumukhi script. He held that a beautiful body was as important as spiritual refinement. He set up arena where young men could vie one another in physical feats. They were, then, entertained Dev Ji passed away at the age of 48.
