ROPAR, Punjab, India A joint party of the police and the CRP. Headed by Mr. RS. Tiwana, Superintendent of Police, Operations, raided Gurdwara Parivar Vichora Sahib.

The Gurdwara building was reportedly searched and the identity of all sewadars and others present ‘verified.

The search started at 2 a.m. and continnedtill4 a.m. The Gurdwara sources said nothing objectionable ‘was found.

‘The raid was conducted following a tip off that some wanted persons were staying in the Gurdwara

Mr. Sewa Singh, President of the District Akali Jatha, condemned the raid on the historic Gurdwara saying that the police Continued to insult the Sikhs by repeatedly raiding their religious shrines.

He said since nothing objectionable was found from the Gurdwara it proved that the police did not care about the sentiments of the Sikhs,

Sewadars of the Gurdwara told the newsmen that the police repeatedly asked them if Gurjeet Singh, President of the AISS.F. Was holding a meeting in the Gurdwara.
