Chandigarh, India: Jan. 25, Reuter: Gunmen shot dead a Hindu school headmaster and a Sikh politician in unabated violence in the north lndian state of Punjab, police said.
They said Kuldip Singh, his brother and an uncle were shot dead in their sleep at a farm house in Patiala district on Sunday night.
Singh was the leader of the youth wing of the Unified Akali Dal, the largest faction of the main Sikh political party.
Government school headmaster Ravinder Kumar was killed on Monday near Batala, police in the state capital Chandigarh said. They also said two shopkeepers were killed by gunmen in Gurdaspur district.
At least 111 people have been killed so far this year in continuing Punjab violence.
