ALLAHABD: Special security armed squads have been deployed in trains for round the clock vigil in the entire northern region, in the wake of stepped up violence
H P Tripathi, DIG northern railway, said that such squads were given special powers and instructions to deal with miscreants with a firm hand and even shoot them if the situation warranted, for the safety of passengers.
Earlier this week, four Muslims, including a train guard, were killed when some rioters stopped the Delhi bound Gomti express, a few kilometers away from Aligarh, and shot them.
Tripathi said the security squads would be in addition to the regular staff of railway protection force
