Baisakhi Greetings on behalf of Sardar Kapur Singh Foundation!

The foundation was formed in memory of Sirdar Kapur Singh who passed away recently after serving the Panth for many years. Sirdar ji worked tirelessly for uplift of the Sikh Nation. He authored several books and articles on the Sikh philosophy and the political destiny of the Sikhs. For his scholarship the Sirdar was recognized as National Professor of Sikhism by SGPC. The Golden Temple, Amritsar. The AISSF often honored him at its annual meetings. The foundation works to stimulate interest in and research on the works of Sirdar Kapur Singh.

After passing M.A. (Philosophy) with distinction from the Punjab University, Lahore, Sirdar Kapur Singh proceeded to England and there he earned a Tripos in Masters in English from Cambridge University. While in England he interacted very closely with the leaders of the freedom movements of India and Pakistan and bounced some of his ideas about the political fate of the Sikhs. In India he served as an elected member of the Punjab Assembly and the Indian Parliament.

Presently, the Foundation is translating some of Sirdar’s Punjabi works such as Sachi Sakhi into English. A Sikh Seminar will be held in the month of August 1990, to commerate Sirdar Kapur Singh Anniversary. Those desirous of further information on the seminar and other activities of the Foundation may contact the undersigned or Dr. Harbans Lal (6415 Amicable Drive, Arlington TX 76016, tel 817/654-0844).
