Wahegunu i Ka Khalsa Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh
I was very happy to receive your Kind letter dated 24th Nov.1991. World Sikh News has played a major role in informing the international community about the Sikh struggle for freedom and liberty. As you know the Shiromani Akali Dal passed a resolution for the right of Self-determination on Baidkhi 1990 followed by a resolution at Fatehgarh Sahibon 12th October 1991 that the aim of the Sikh struggle and party i to strive for an Independent Sovereign Sikh State. Our struggle is entirely peaceful and democratic. The army is now posted in fall strength in Punjab. Apart from the three more crops have been moved.
One crop consists of three divisions and each division has 60000armed combatants. Three Corps makes one army and six corps makes two armies. Besides this there are 432 companies of Para-military forces. Each company has one hundred combatants. There are 55000 civil policemen and 22000 Home Guards. The army has heavy armor and artillery. It’s supported by MIG 21°s MIG 23s MIG 25s MIG 27° MIG 29s Mirages 2000 and Jagvars. What will surprise you all is that the Sikhs face more armed men then the Americans deployed in Operation Desert Shield? The Shiromani Akali Dal is not sitting idle and we have taken an Oath that we will meet this challenge through grit and patience. We will defy and endure but never accept defeat. None of our workers will leave their village of district but remain with the Sangal in their hour of tribulation. Dail the armed forces carry out cordon and search operations. They humiliate the entire Sikh nation. Our men and women face brutal torture in the police interrogation centers. The men are undressed and paraded and what is most unfortunate is that at the Criminal Intelligence Agency at Patiala women are subjected to the same treatment. In these difficult days we think of you and your newspaper for this is a beacon in 3 stormy seas. We wish you the very best and congratulations for keeping the torch of liberty alive and burning.
