LUDHIANA: Mr Jagtar Singh Jachak on Tuesday quit as granthi (priest) of the Golden Temple on Jan 31,89.
In his resignation letter addressed to the president of the Shiromani Gurudwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC), he expressed his inability to continue in a situation of confrontation. He said that he would be grateful if his resignation was accepted.
This is the second time that MrJagtar Singh has submitted his resignation from the post within a month. This assumes importance ‘as only on Monday the SGPC executive deferred a decision on. The question of “Gurmat Maryada”.
Earlier this month, he had resigned pleading for the restoration of old Maryada’ in the Golden Temple.
