NEW DELHI, India: If the Centre gives weightage to the governor’s report and opinion, as idea of a Coalition Government in Jammu and Kashmir has made no head way, Governor’s rule in the state may be extended by six more months. The Governor of Jammu and Kashmir, Mr. Jag- ‘Mohan, was summoned to Delhi for discussions over various alter- natives for ending the political impasse. The Governor had been asked 10 give his report on the political situation and give his opinion as to what was the most suitable solution to the problem. The Governor is believed to be of the firm opinion that the extension of Governor’s Rule or Centre’s rule in the constitutional in terminology is necessary to enable him see through various development, projects and administrative steps initiated by him. If the present system of government was disturbed; the very purpose for which Governor’s Rule imposed may be defeated. The Governor according to sources close to him does not favor the midterm poll for next four months as the election may hit the flow of tourists in the valley.

Dr. Farooq Abdullh, Chief of the National Conference said he is not prepared to accept that his party will benefit by joining hands with the Congress (I) in the government. Making programmers, he – may accept Congress (I) support from outside the Government. – However, the matter is not yet closed, after discussion with the Governor; the government may invite Dr.Abdulla for final talks. In case he remained adamant, the Centre may either extend Governor’s Rule or allow the state Congress (I) to form the government.
