PHILLAUR: Punjab Governor OP Malhotra described allegations of corruption and nepotism among police as a conspiracy to demoralize and impede the functioning of the force and asked police officers not to bother about such reports. Malhotra was addressing 1524 trainees at the police training college here. He however admitted that “S to 7 per cent” force had tarnished the image of the entire force. He claimed that a visible difference in militancy in Punjab had been brought about during his tenure as Governor.
