NEW DELHI: Rajiv Goswami, an undergraduate student whose self-immolation sparked off many others in the country to protest the government’s reservation policy, is stated to be out of danger.

The head of the burns department of Safdar Jung Hospital here, Dr JL Srivastava, said the condition of Rajiv, who tried to set himself ablaze outside the premises of Desh Bandhu College in South Delhi was better.

The government had issued instructions at that time to save Rajiv at all costs. Rajiv has undergone a number of operations, including skin grafting, in the past two months.
