SILVER SPRING: The annual culture program of Guru Nanak Foundation of America Silver Spring Maryland was held on Saturday May 18, 1991. The program included dances-solo and group Gidha and Bhangra. It was the first time that the youth of the community played such a big role in the success of the program there were about five group events of youth including a very successful fashion show. All of the Washington metropolitan area was represented over a thousand people attended the program to make it a success. It was nice of the organizers to play “Tootak Tootak Tootian” at the last and let everyone join in the stage at the Gala.
One group from North Carolina also performed in this program. This program was organized by Guru Nanak Foundation of America’s P.R.O. Mrs Rupinder Kaur Sekhon. Master of the ceremony was Paramjit Singh Nijjar.
