CHANDIGARH: It is now evident that Punjab police chief KP.S.Gill is getting no satisfactory response from the Indian government for his informal pleas to give him a political posting after his retirement in December, He is therefore working for his further extension as chief of Punjab police. He is already on extension for one year. Chief Minister Beant Singh appears to be in no mood to recommend another extension to Gill and wants to get rid of him as early as possible, But the Indian government will not object to another extension for Gill. Any way interesting development son Gill’s front are likely in the next few weeks. These developments may even have a bearing on the law and order situation in the state.
