NEW YORK:S. Ranjit Singh Gill and S. Sukhminder Singh Sandhu in a telephonic statement to the World Sikh News described the killing of S. Charanjit Singh “Channi” by the Punjab police as a barbaric act and a great personal loss to them. It is worthy to mention that Bhai Charanjit Singh “Channi” was a personal friend of S. Gill and S. Sandhu and were closely associated in the AISSF activities. It is irony of fate that one friend has been killed by the Indian police and other two (Gill and Sandhu) are confined to the jail in New York on the complaint of government of India without any criminal charge.
Mr. Sandhu and Mr. Gill also made a fervent appeal to the militant organizations not to malign any of their other militant colleagues as Sarkaria as the Government is out to eliminate each one of them. They also called upon. them to forget their petty. personal differences and work untidily for the cause.
