STOCKTON : Giani Wadhawa Singh Gill retired after 12 year’s distinguished service as the Priest of Gurdwara Stockton, He handed over the charge to Giani Harbhajan Singh who was appointed.as the new priest by the management. During his tenure, Giani Wadhawa Singh endeared himself to the entire Sikh community. He also developed a meaningful rapport with priests of other religions and sought to highlight the ‘common currents that are basic to all religious.

Born in 1921, Giani Wadhawa Singh graduated from Forman Christian College, Lahore and later completed his Masters in Punjabi and Political Science, He devoted nearly 10 years to religious studies. After a teaching assignment in Gov’t School Bassi Pathnan, he enjoined Punjab Languages Department as Research Assistant.

He has written two books “Nam Ki Hai” and “Atma K’ Hai”,, Giani Ji also had long anticipation with Sant Harman Singh Bhai Sher Singh, Giani Gurdia Singh and Sant Sadhu Singh.

The new Priest (Granthi) Giani Harbhajan Singh, graduated from Shaheed Sikh Missionary College, Amritsar and spent twenty long years with Principal Sahib Singh in learning an comprehending the grammar of Guru Granth Sahib,

Up to 1985 he taught Punjabi and Dharmik Studies in Guru Gobind Singh Khalsa High School Sirsa. He worked as priest for nearly nine years with Sir Guru ‘Singh Sabha, Model Town, Phagwara. He was with Darmik Vidyala of Delhi Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee for 1 1/2 years. From 1974 to 1981 he was with Kalgi Dhar Singh Sabha, Ludhjana. He was awarded “Swaran Pattar” by Kendri Sri Guru Singh Sabha Path Bodh Samagam Publications. In 1982 he migrated to the United States, He is a founder member of Sikh Missionary College, Field Ganj, Ludhiana.
