NEW DELHI, India: Indian Prime Minister, Rajiv Gandhi, said on August 1st, that a meeting of all 49 heads of the Commonwealth might be necessary if the mini summit to be held in London on August 3 does not agree on measures to be taken against South Africa, Gandhi said it was not just for the seven nations attending the mini summit to decide whether to impose sanctions against South Africa. The Prime Minister was speaking at an interview before flying to London for the mini summit. Co-Chairman of the Commonwealths eminent per sons group (EPG), former Australian Prime Minister, Malcolm Fraser, said If the seven leaders put off making a decision on sanctions until meeting with the European Community (EC) in September they were effectively saying their links with Europe were more important than their ties with the Commonwealth, Fraser was speaking in London on August 1 as Teasers from India, Zambia, Zimbabwe, Canada, Australia and the Bahamas arrived in Britain for the summit with British Prime Minister, Margaret Thatcher.
