JAIPUR: Rajiv Gandhi accused the National Front government of lowering India’s prestige in the world.

Addressing an election meeting in this capital city of Rajasthan, Gandhi said the failure of the new government’s foreign policy “has led to small neighboring countries pressurizing India.”

He said during Congress (I) rule Pakistan or any other country never dared to challenge India.

Gandhi said the Congress I had done a lot for the development of backward and tribal areas.

He said the Congress I “alone” could provide a “‘stable’ and “effective government and keep the unity and integrity of the country intact.
