DELHI (PTI): Prof. Kenneth Galbraith the former U.S. Ambassador to India Thursday firmly opposed any outside intervention in Kashmir “on humanitarian considerations.”
“The matter should be resolved between India and Pakistan and “I hope that good sense will prevail in the sub-continent to find an amicable solution to the problem” he said while addressing a press conference.
The renowned economist who is here at the invitation of the Rajiv Gandhi foundation to deliver lectures on “the world economy-the larger perspective” replied to a host of questions ranging from economics Indo-US relations and the NPT controversy.
Generally endorsing the U.S governments stand on the signing of the nuclear Non Proliferation Treaty (NPT) by India Prof. Galbraith said he was all for general disarmament in the world.
