CHANDIGARH, India, Freedom fighter Tarsem Singh Kala was shot dead and two of his colleagues were wounded when unidentified persons believed to be Security Forces personnel in disguise entered the Golden Temple and opened fire with automatic weapons.

The police suspected Tarsem Singh’s involvement in the killing of three policemen and a rickshaw driver last Friday. Tarsem Singh and his two colleagues reportedly belonged to the Khalistan Commando Force.

The police version blamed the killing on an unidentified militant group. But police story was disbelieved by the Temple sources who said the police had in their frustration started killing Sikh young men through such subterfuge.
