LUDBIANA, Punjab, India: Khalistan has been formed and what remains to be done is the formal takeover”, speeches to this effect were made at Nankana Sahib by freedom fighters, who reached there to participate in Guruu Nanak Dev Birth anniversary celebrations held from November 3 To 6.
A Jatha of 3,000 pilgrims from India visited Nankana Sahib, Panja Sahib and the Dera Sahib Gurdwara at Lahore from October 31 to November 8. Another jatha of about 100 Sikhs from the U.S.A. and Canada also took part in the celebrations.
According to pilgrims returning from Nankana Sahib, Sikhs from the US.A. And Canada, mostly youth, described themselves as “Babbars”. They made fiery speeches at the Nankana Sahib Gurdwara and snatched the mike and occupied the stage during the celebrations. They spoke against Akali Dal and S.GP.C. Leaders as also the Government of India.
The militants asked the Indian pilgrims to take a vow not to provide any information to the police regarding the activities of the “Babbars” in Punjab and other parts of the country “in their struggle against the Government of India.
The militants said ‘Khalistan’ had been created and only its formal possession was to be taken now, the struggle for which would continue.
The pilgrims said members of the Indian jatha were treated well both by the government and the people of Pakistan.
