AMRITSAR: Devinder Singh continues to be in jail despite the revocation of his detention under the National Security Act four months ago, Enquiries reveal that Devinder was detained under NSA on orders by a Magistrate here on Dec 12, 1988. The Home Secy subsequently revoked detention order in February. This order ‘was communicated to Devinder ‘Singh and he filed a criminal writ in the High Court which came up for hearing on Aug 3. The Asst Advocate Gen of Punjab informed the court that the detention had already been revoked. Copies of the order had been sent to the jail also.
