NEW DELHI (PTI): Fees for self-financing foreign students in the prestigious Indian Institutes of Technology (IIT) has been increased steeply from this academic session.
Fees for each semester would now be 2,000 U.S.dollars and 3,000 U.S. dollars for under graduate and postgraduate students respectively, The earlier fees for these category of students were 100 U.S, dollars and 200 U.S. dollars respectively, In addition to this, 100 U.S. dollars would be charged at the time of joining for registration, admission fee and grade card fee.
The revised fee structure was ratified at a meeting of the council of its consisting of eminent educationists, scientists, industrialists, directors and officials here Scpu.30. The Human Resources development minister, Arjun Singh, presided over the meeting.
‘The fee structure would not apply to students already admitted before its introduction from this academic year, The admission procedure for foreign students would also be changed from the 199495 academic session.
