Office workers using Punjabi should be grateful to K . Ravinder Singh who, in 1946 invented a system of short hand for the Punjabi language . He improved the existing systems and also invented a keyboard for Punjabi typewriters.

During this tenure in the government he trained hundreds of stenographers and reporters in his methods, He received the highest a  claim from those he worked for and mention of gratitude from members of the Indian Assembly.
