BOMBAY: Shiv Sena chief Bal Thackeray has threatened to widen the scope of his “pogrom” against Bangladeshis and Pakistanis nationals to cover the whole of India while he called upon Shiv Sainiks to flush out these intruders from their “dens” in Bombay, and asked the police to aid in this task which he described as a “national duty.”

“We have to take this step as the (Congress) government is doing nothing in this regard. The Shiv Sainiks will wipe out the last trace the entire community of anti-nationals who are making such threats,” he said.

“All deputy commissioners and assistant commissioners of police should be charged with the duty, failing which the Chief Minister and Deputy Chief Minister will take appropriate action against them,” he said.

Speaking to reporters, Thackeray who in a statement in his party paper Seamna had called for the decimation of all Muslims following a threatening anonymous phone call said, “I am now planning to do this on a national scale, I will not allow them. (Bangladeshi and Pakistani Muslims) to live in this country. Since the Central government has failed to take any action in this regard, we have to do this as citizens of this country.” Thackeray has also appealed to local Muslims to treat this as a national priority and alert the authorities to the existence of Bangladeshis and Pakistanis in their respective mohallas. “They should flush out this poison with the help of the police. Only then will things gain the right perspective.”

Thackeray told local Muslims, “there is no problem between you and us.” But if they failed to help in the task of flushing out Bangladeshi and Pakistani nationals, “You will have only yourself to curse for your fate.”
