CHANDIGARH (PTI) Five members of a family and eight militants were killed and two militants nabbed in Punjab.
Gunmen struck in village Buchragh in Patiala district and shot dead five members of a family.
Two militants were killed in an encounter with security forces while ahead constable was injured in village Cheema in Khanna police .
In another encounter two militants were killed in village Manila in Tarn Taran police district while another unidentified militant was killed in village Sahajpurin Patiala
Two militants from one group and another unidentified militant were killed near Bassi Pathana in Fatehgarh Sahib.
According to reports a police Party was escorting two accused militants to a village for recovery of arms and ammunition when another group of militants attacked them. In the ensuing exchange of fire both of the accused and another unidentified militant were killed Security forces also nabbed two militants from village Dakana in Hoshiarpur district.
