NEW DELHI: Justice V. Ramaswamy Chief Justice of the Punjab and Haryana High Court was among 6 judges appointed to the Supreme Court. Also appointed to the Supreme Court is MN. Punchi of Punjab High Court.
Mr. C.S Dewan will now head the Punjab High Court, The appointment of Punchi came as a surprise as he superseded five judges senior to him, and Observers say Punchi and Dewan were assigned crucial political cases which he invariably decided in the favor of the state and against the interests of the people of PunJab.
