By A Staff Reporter CHANDIGARH: Mr. Bhaskar Nandi of Indian People’s front stated here that character of Indian state was fascist. Youth in Punjab was being killed in the same manner as Muslims were being killed in Assam and Nagaland.
State terrorism was the fascist ideology used against minorities. For repression Nandi said state used its paramilitary forces, Anti Sikh Regiments and even (hoodlums).
He gave the example of mass killing of Sikhs in Delhi and other places in November 1984 after the assassination of Indira Gandhi.
Nandi was speaking at a convention on a movement against state terrorism held here on June 25.
The convention gave a call to people of Punjab and to all right minded political parties, social groups, and human rights organizations to organize themselves into forming People’s Voluntary Force. The units of P.V.F should also be formed at District and village level
and even in small localities in Punjab. Rajinder Puri a columnist and national executive committee member of Janta Dal moved the resolution. Col Partap Singh President of Bharat Mukati Morcha Punjab, Justice Ajit Singh Bains, Kuldip Singh Wadala, Surinder Kaur, and Inder Mohan of People’s Union of civil liberties also addressed the gathering.
