NEW DELHI: The management of the Indian Express group of newspapers Wednesday said it will abide by the interim directions of the Supreme Court in its judgment yesterday with regard to the Bachhawat Wage Board Award for Journalists and Non-Journalists and appealed to the employees to join duty forthwith.
The employees of the Delhi Edition of the newspaper had gone on strike on December 13, 1989 demanding implementation of the Bachhawat Award and management had declared a lock-out on December 19.
In a notice displayed on the premises, the general manager, Mr. S.K Kohli said there will be no victimization of employees for participating in the strike and the management will not rely on FIRS filed by some employees against their colleagues to initiate displinary action.
“If after the court orders and the above assurances of the management, the employees do not resume work forthwith, the management will be forced into harder options,” it added.
