NEW DELHI: Indian commerce minister Arun Nehru has indicated that the government will drastically reduce procedural formalities involved in exports and favored single window clearance for all export sectors.
The thrust towards procedural simplification in order to give a bigger boost to exports will be fully reflected in the new export and import policy to be announced in April, 1990.
The minister said’ he was responding to complaints by the marine products export development authority (MPEDA) at a review meeting here Wednesday.
The minister expressed himself strongly in favor of single window clearance for all export sectors, including marine product and indicated that he would take up the matter with the ministry of finance and other concerned agencies.
