TOKYO An explosion ripped through a propane gas plant in central Japan Saturday, igniting a fire that raced through the structure and injured two employees, police said.
Police said 200 miles west of Tokyo. The explosion occurred as workers were moving cylinders of propane gas, used widely in Japan as cooking fuel, they said.
Police said the fire was under control but that they were allowing all the propane in the plant’s tanks to bum off.
