TORONTO: A 39 year old Toronto woman has pleaded guilty to fraud and theft involving the disappearance of $14 million at a Royal Bank branch in Richmond Hill.
“It’s the biggest fraud case we’ve had in this police department so far as I know,” said York Region police Sergeant Nom Miles.
The discrepancies came to light after three customers arrived to renew treasury bills and found they had no accounts.
The employee was fired in May and the bank’s internal investigation was concluded in August, Anderson said.
